Library of Silchar College of Education was started along with the establishment of the college in 1994 in order to cater to the academic needs of the students, teaching and non-teaching staff. Since then, the college library is trying to increase its stock.

(a) Facilities Available

There is a 'Reading Room' having provision for reading facilities of twenty students at a time. Text and reference books are near about 4000 in member. Library is equipped with the books containing subjects most commonly needed by the students. Reading and borrowing facilities are given to the staff members and students of the college.

(b) Reference Books

There is a collection of reference books like dictionary, encyclopedia, hand book, manual, abstract, year book, tourist guide etc. for reading, reference and general information.

(c) Library Membership Card

Every student should be the member of the library. Library membership card will not be transferable. Members are responsible for the loss, damage, defacement or multilation of books. In this case, he/she will be liable to compensate for the book/books to the library, otherwise he/she will not be given the permission to sit for the final Examination.

(d) Career Guidance Corner

Books related to different competitive examinations, current events, news information, general knowledge etc. for career advancement or service are also available in our college library. These books will be issued during college hours and also be returned within the college hours. Students can study these books only in the Reading Room of the college library.
